Assets - Asset Owners in Scotland

Community

For many communities across Scotland, there are land assets within the community which have the potential to be utilised in a more effective way for the benefit of those who live there. Stakeholders work closely with community groups across Scotland to provide knowledge, information and expertise to help this process and this is delivered in a range of ways, either through the implementation of new legislation such as Land Reform and Hydro Nation to effective collaboration through Scottish Water, Local Energy Scotland, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and projects such as RECENT. If you are a community group based in Scotland and are interested in finding out more about making the most of local assets within your community please contact Ewan Ramsay (RECENT) on ewan.ramsay@irri.org.uk and he will be more than happy to introduce you to the most appropriate person or organisation.

Scottish Water

RECENT and Scottish Water are currently developing a new policy toolkit (the first of its kind). This toolkit will set out a policy for Scotland for how the water utility will engage with asset owners and communities when setting up new community renewable energy projects in Scotland.
