In Northern Ireland the potential opportunities are unfortunately currently vastly limited in terms of grants and funding. In the past various implements have been used such as Renewables Obligations Certificates or Renewable Heat Incentives to help offset the initial outlay for installing renewable technologies. However due to changes in government priorities these funds have been withdrawn since 2017. There is currently no plans to replace them or create new, similar programs. This is where the RECENT Project policy influencing hopes to make a difference and you can visit that section of our site for more information on how to get involved in this.
A couple of potential areas to explore if you have an innovative renewable technology idea may include the Green Investment Group or the Green Angel Syndicate which is headed up by Nick Lyth who has worked with RECENT Project partners on previous and current other EU projects.
